Summary

The Buddha, while in Śrāvastī at Jetavana Monastery, was approached by a wealthy young man, the son of Elder Prātibhāna’s Son, who, along with his companions, respectfully inquired about the causes of different destinies, including birth in heaven, human life, hell, the realm of hungry ghosts, and animals. The Buddha responded by explaining the five key actions leading to each realm and recited verses summarizing these principles.
