Notes: 1037–1101; Su Dongpo, also known as 苏轼 Su Shi, was a writer, poet, artist, and calligrapher, the most well known Song poet and one of the four famous Song calligraphers 宋四家. Su Dongpo composed ci and shi poetry. His works include The Red Cliff 赤壁赋. Su Dongpo is considered the initiator of the haofang school 豪放派. ngpo is considered the initiator of the haofang school 豪放派. His father was the great writer Su Xun 苏洵 (Idema and Haft 1997, pp. 110, 153-160).
